Phantom Obsessions

This was a student organized MIND project at the University of Northern Colorado as Tim Jarrell and Brie Vicek’s final. As a multimedia, audience participating, live interactive journey, this performance dealt with themes of war, trauma, desperation and fear. 

Over 60 people turned out for an afternoon of painting as a band played historically significant songs and a slideshow of a mature and serious nature. The audience was encouraged to participate and in the end we had three large canvases as a reminder of the creative reactions that are so fundamentally important to understanding what is still going on in the world around us. This idea played that it is the artists who are first to notice the world’s shortcomings.
